Version 1.0.0 — October 5, 2026
This is the first release recorded with an application version number. Earlier changes below were delivered without numbered releases.
- Shorter, focused pages: Workspace handles folder selection and backup creation; Backups handles archive history, restores, and deletion; Settings handles retention and pairing duration.
- Paged backup history: Search archive descriptions or filenames, choose 10, 25, 50, or 100 rows, and move through the results with Previous and Next. The companion still supplies at most its newest 2,500 archives.
- Connection help: Hover or focus the connection indicator to see which local PC is connected and where file operations happen.
- Pairing countdown: A server-enforced auto-disconnect timer is visible on connected pages. It starts when a code is claimed, defaults to 120 minutes, and is not extended by polling, reloads, or navigation. Change the current session's duration in Settings; doing so explicitly restarts its countdown. Expiry requires a fresh code and local approval. Running local jobs can finish.
- Visible release number: The site header and workspace footer show the application version, maintained in Directory.Build.props. The same property supplies assembly version metadata.
- Clear scope: Windows Bedrock Edition ONLY, local worlds only, and no Realms integration. The website shows Bedrock 26.50 as user-reported use of the application, separately from its release number. Backup/restore verification is pending until a complete test is recorded.
- What's New and documentation: This page presents current and earlier changes, with readable copies of every Markdown file in docs.
- Updated User Guide: The full guide, section links, print layout, and offline copy now cover the new pages, pagination, edition scope, and pairing countdown.
Earlier updates — October 5, 2026
- Added the comprehensive 18-section User Guide with installation, pairing, folder selection, backups, restore recovery folders, retention, privacy, troubleshooting, and offline/print options.
- Incorporated the supplied CoHo Appz logo into the website and companion branding.
- Corrected missing publisher contact values that could prevent a Production website from starting. Existing startup and IIS configuration remain deployment concerns documented separately.
Earlier updates — October 4, 2026
- Replaced the default reconnect fog with a compact automatic recovery banner. The browser can retry or reload, and file commands are not automatically replayed.
- Added a companion download card and installation instructions, with a clear unavailable state when the publisher has not uploaded the actual companion package.
- Added IIS hosting-model repair and deployment documentation for the SmarterASP.NET setup.
Foundation — earlier unversioned work
- Limited the desktop port to Minecraft folder backup and restore through a Windows companion.
- Kept game files and ZIP archives on the companion PC, with pairing and local confirmation for destructive operations.
- Added archive descriptions, legacy MCS import, retention cleanup that preserves the newest archive, and recovery copies after restore.
- Adopted the CoHo Appz World Backup name, independent folder artwork, publisher support contacts, and the Mojang/Microsoft non-affiliation notice.
